So many trans femme pics show a male body, looking into mirror and seeing a girl. Seeing what they want, seeing their true self. Dysphoria is looking into a mirror and NOT seeing your true self. Seeing this broken, masculinized picture that shows everything WRONG. Even when you've made progress, Dysphoria has a way of wiping all that away, and even if for just a moment, you feel like nothing has changed. You steel yourself, try to find the good, try to remind yourself of how much has changed, and you move forward. The mirror is broken, showing a ghost that wants to scare you. No more.
Had a rough week, and this is, if not exactly cathartic, good to get out on paper. An interesting side note, I've noticed foxes seem to have one of two kinds of muzzles, sleek, and ruffed with puffy cheeks. I don't think they are in nature, but I tend to think of these as gender coded, with sleek being more feminine, and the ruffed cheeks being more masculine, like a beard almost. So here the female fox has a sleek muzzle, while the reflection has the cheek ruffs.
