As the moon lit up the pathway of the park, Jon closed his eyes as the hand reached out and gently held his cheek, feeling those soft fingers go through his fur as his throat rumbled in a low purr.
For a moment, he gently held the hand in both of his, feeling how warm it was, how those fingers ran through his fur. For the moment, he imagined everything away and shivered as he gently turned his head to nuzzle into the palm. He wanted to hold it, wanted to stay here and feel the hand as it held his cheek.
When was the last time someone held him like this? When was the last time someone even bothered to touch him like this? And as quick as the moment came, it left. Dreams of a life he wanted gone as he slowly opened his eyes and looked up, still holding the hand close.
"Tell me... After everything I've done. Everything I do..." He whispered, voice shaking as he held the gaze. For the first time he remembered, he was scared. Scared about the answer he might get.
"Do I deserve this? Do I deserve your touch?"
