A pair of explorers who delved into a long-sealed tomb, their presence awakening the reanimated corpse of an ancient warrior which proceeded to attack the couple, leaving them for dead as it walked out the exit of the tomb.

Sensing that the seal of a powerful demon had been broken, Anubis and Bast quickly manifested to try and seal the demon away once more, only to find a near death pair of mortals slumped on the ground and bleeding out. Anubis kneeled down, offering the two rebirth as demigods in exchange for helping to vanquish the demon they'd unwittingly released, and they agreed without a second thought. Anubis and Bast "adopted" the two, giving the new bodies, new names, and new life as demigods.

Anya, now Ahti, was reborn as a feline with powerful protection magic while Kayla, now Kesi, was reborn as a jackal with incredibly powerful offensive magic.
