I don't play the pokemon games, but I kinda find that hard to excuse as anything but cowardly. My understanding is that water is immune to fire (it's a limited understanding, so I could be wrong). Now, being a normal type human myself (even if my tastes are certainly not normal type), I would be worried and running out like a wuss. But I would be justified because I am a wuss!
