Yeah, come to think of it, this just once again shows the ever-changing standards of what constitutes "normal" in this world. Turning yourself into fucking flubber to avoid all physical harm is some exclusive "Clan Power" for this character, but we've seen however many other characters shrug off shit that should've killed them. It's Rachael and Miles suddenly being shocked and terrified by Minos' super strength they already knew about all over again.
Again, hard to see this as the high-stakes epic they want it to be when they're never clear on what the damn stakes are, nor where the line between cartoon-ass slapstick and lethality is!

I don't think Knighthood was ever going to really be high stakes outside of things involving Ayah. And even that's not really much because Joy is kind of insanely powerful and good at everything so Ayah isn't really that much of a real threat. You can't really die or be seriously injured in Clan trials, and if you fail there is no real penalty. You just move onto the next one and take the one you failed later. They are also pretty much all rushed so far, aside from the current one and they don't really mean much of anything to Joy beyond being stepping stones.
Las Lindas actually has more stakes because a lot of the time it's the characters fighting for the farm they live in, or for some place they have within it. Both of which are things they theorically CAN lose if things don't go their way.

I mean the entire thing altogether, we already know Knighthood in particular is basically an especially poorly written take on various shonen anime formulas mixed together with the usual dumb harem shit and so the overpowered main character will never truly fail. And let's not kid ourselves, the main comic has no real stakes aside from the phony threats being built up in this ridiculous effort to pretend they're making the most epic thing ever, as if we think for one second that whatever happens, things won't turn out golden for Mora like they always do. Even if it did have any, there's still the aforementioned fact that this comic doesn't know its own intended tone or audience. And now just to emphasize that, we have this character whose body has turned entirely into apparently invincible rubber because shut up, her goofy cartoon physics are treated as unique and weird despite many other characters seemingly surviving on pure toon logic, and for some reason she didn't in any way use this power before now.
I'm aware the main comic has its own issues with stakes, but in that one it's just bad writing or the lore being stupid that makes the stakes not feel like much of anything but it at least attempts to have them in the story. Mora and all them might come out okay in the end, but in context of the story they might not. She's almost lost the farm, which she does have a fairly strong reason to care bout,
multiple times. That's stakes. It's just a lot of the time she gets bailed out.
Knighthood has a much bigger issue, which is that it shot itself in the foot and has no stakes baked in the story, aside from when Ayah showed up. Even if Joy fails the Courage trial, she'll be perfectly fine. It's not even like Pokémon Gyms where failing prevents you from moving forward to the next one, they're not really road blocks they're like time wasters almost. She doesn't really have anything to lose, and all that's really happened to her is that she lose part of a horn she doesn't use.

I just realized something too...
Nearly two years ago, we were shown Staci, this exact character, acting as though she can in fact be hurt by things. She hides with Drake and the mouse twink from the tennis balls being fired at them. If she's an invincible rubber being who can't feel pain, why the flying fuck didn't she display this sooner?
But yeah, no, everything's totally planned way in advance, fellas.

If you squint really hard, even with the lack of planning I can kind of see them trying to make the piece fit.
From what we've seen, she can't feel the pain and presumably doesn't take much if any damage, but the force of the thing can still move her. With the tennis ball thing, if she got hit she'd go the opposite direction she was trying to go. Similar thing with the dinosaur, you get smacked by the tail you might be SOL.
That being said, from what we've seen, basic problem solving would dictate that if she knew about her abilities, the first thing she'd probably think to do is to find a wall or structure that's facing where she needs to go, take the hit, go into the wall, and use that force to bounce herself forward. I believe she was even shown being able to adjust her direction when she compresses against the wall, and she seems to lose very little kenetic energy from doing that and hitting the wall so even if the lady tried to gun her down off the rebound her mass and speed would likely let her blow through the shots and even if they didn't she would just go back to the wall, with even more energy and...yeah. It's a bit of a hole.
Even ignoring that, you got there people hiding, one using a clan power already to shield himself. First thing you do, ask everyone what they can do. You need that knowledge if you plan on trying to solving a problem in the best way possible.
I guess the only real defense is that she's relatively new and just didn't know how to think with her ability in mind on the fly. Presumably she's only done the water trial, which seems to be the easiest one.

It's hard to say because only a one person got hit by them. A bird got hit, but the effects of getting hit weren't shown and Joy...sigh...caught one in her mouth...
But seeing as they had traps that were flipping and pushing people off to God knows where and the balls were leaving ball shaped imprints in that stone thing Drake was hiding behind I imagine they probably would. It'd be weird if all the balls did was hurt you like an irl tennis ball shooter would, especially with Primes who I'm pretty sure they can force their way through that.

Oh, one other person got hit, the beaver lady. She used her tail to block shots that were leaving imprints on stone and was midly annoyed enough that she didn't shoot at Drake when he jumped.
So I don't know, fuggit. I guess the balls were just there to annoy them. Except they can also do damage to stone.

We know from how she talks about it with Joy that she's very familiar with it and used to it already though. She can fully control it and gave it a name. And showed no sign at any point of having just found out that her entire body composition changed in an instant. So even that wouldn't actually fix it, it'd just make it less obvious that it was written on the fly.
I mean, being written on the fly isn't a bad thing if it doesn't necessarily break things, and you could say that it happened offscreen. The dinosaur thing all together was like 2 pages and Kacey was, at best, a background shape that we didn't look at while it was going on and then they had like a day that was montaged, and theyre surrounded by people who know about that stuff so there's some wiggle room. Especially given how simple the power is compared to Joy and she would have actually had a lot of time to use it because of what they were doing.
I still think this is being a bit too forgiving, but I'm more amazed that of all the things I could forget from this, it was Kacey's name. I'm cursed to remember more about the main comic's actual goddamn characters and story than its own creators care to, but then I go and call Kacey "Staci" earlier. :V
Yeah, but we know by now that Chalo and SoulKat can't seem to decide at any given point whether superhuman strength is normal for Primes or something only certain ones have or something to be feared and hidden away, etc. Hell, depending on what day of the week it is, I'm sure the reason given would be the fact that she inexplicably has bovine genes.
