So, there have been a few discussions about trans people in my environment most recently (I’m cis btw) and from time to time things come up that I find to be unpleasant.
It’s amazing that people so often feel the need to interfere in the affairs of others, even though they don’t have the slightest influence on their own lives. In everyday life, you still have the opportunity to counteract politely, and even when I realize that people are completely consumed by their cognitive dissonance, I can still say, well, let’s go for a soda and talk about movies or something – We just can’t do anything about denial. But it’s that bothering feature of the internet that thoughts expressed remain recorded for all eternity in the digital scrolls of this world and that’s why I usually avoid places like Twitter or, let’s be honest, most social media. I believe at least a colorful place like Fur Affinity should be a safe space.
