Once upon a time, there was a young Zorua who became enamored with humans and human culture, eventually using her skills at deception and mimicry to utilize her Illusion Ability to temporarily masquerade as humans. Sneaking her way around town, hanging out with kids, then teens, then adults, observing them to better copy them, she learned a lot, managing to iron out any imperfections in her disguises, and even taught herself how to replicate human speech. She had a mischievous streak, often turning into people and Pokémon to confuse or mock them then quickly gettin away by blending into a crowd or disguising herself as something else, but also wanted to find a way to truly relate to them. Eventually, she discovered various traditional theatrical arts such as noh, kyogen, and especially kabuki. Her appetite and desire to be on the stage was insatiable, but the makeup wouldn't work on her illusions, so she sought out some other way of expressing her wish to be a human, which culminated in her evolution into a Zoroark that could better handle the requirements she wanted to put on herself. She named herself 阿国 出雲 or "Okuni Izumo" in reference to the founder of kabuki and prepared to enter the world of acting...if only she could discover some way to make her skin seem human at a touch as well...
