So i had some idea of what Emma was going to look like, but not any particular sense of the style i would be drawing the book in.

i wanted it to look sort of old-fashioned, and i wanted a good use of solid blacks...

Miyazaki's works were (are) a bit of an influence and he had used Moebius style in his books....Ben Dunn had copied that in his anthro series Mighty Tiny,,, Stan Sakai likewise with Usagi Yojimbo...i had learned to do my version of Moebius' style decades ago, so i wanted to see how that wold look....
