
When I do not have anything that I want to draw in the way of a picture, I practice drawing something, usually some part of the anatomy; ears, a foot or an elbow. Today’s subject was eyes. Here are two columns of eyes, one humanish and the other more feline.

Yes in depicting my anthropomorphic eyes I tried to retain some aspect of recognizable human anatomy (the white around the iris instead of black). Otherwise I could have just simply drawn animal eyes straight from NatGeo, but hey this is Fur Affinity, the land of anthros. :-D
All anthro art is a compromise between animal and human anatomy. Ultimately the balance is decided by the artist and his or her judgment as to what the viewer will interpret correctly. For myself I like showing that the animal side is there. For example, digitigrade legs while more difficult to represent, carry over the animal nature of the anthro character better than plantigrade legs. On the other hand, too much animalism loses the human part of the character that human viewers identify with.
