I gotcha. Sorry for getting a little defensive but some people though... you should hear some of the things they say to me.

If the end result is a bidding war that puts the current dealie in question out of their range (or if the price gets too in general), slots opening that they keep missing, denying offers when I'm closed (especially if they invest time pretending to be my friend), or non existant waiting lists that I don't put them on it's reflecting something badly on my part - hah.


Auctions are like this though. It's kind of why I do auction pimping to help people out - watchers/ pimping really does help with this sort of thing!

But if the people that spend that much money on an adoptable, they better put it through a lot unlike what I've seen people just collect them and don't do anything with them unless they just love to throw money around.

When it comes to buying things, I kinda live by a little code of sorts. Something is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. Which essentially boils it down to personal opinion on the matter.

On another note, I do have plans for her. I only hope that I will have enough money to get her. Sadly those plans don't include drawings because as of yet I have no drawing skills. But there is always commissions.

On the one hand, it's absolutely true that if you weren't Tsampikos, people wouldn't be willing to pay this much for an adoptable. Name is EXTREMELY important in this fandom. There could be an artist better than you offering the same thing and it wouldn't get this kind of money if they weren't popular like you are. That's just how it is.

That said? You don't OWE anybody anything, don't feel bad. You do people a favour by offering your services at all, it's not like you're required to. Nobody has a right to be abusive just because some people are a bit starstruck. I love your stuff too but can't afford it, that doesn't mean I have a right to whine that you aren't making an exception for me. You can't be 'fair' to everybody else while still being fair to yourself, and vice versa, so don't worry too much about it.

TL;DR, don't let people get to you. They're either jealous you can make this kind of money or upset that they can't get something for you, and neither of those are things to fault YOU for, they lie completely with the person.

I'm pretty certain that isn't true. People do it all the time and I've seen it sanctioned by Dragoneer himself when the owner of Furbuy (or Furbid, forget which) was whining at artists for auctioning here instead of on his site

Honestly this fandom has a thing for cheap art, and whenever someone makes anything above $40 people get a little nasty. I think it'd be a good idea to use an auction site, if for no other reason, you don't have to have bidders being made to feel guilty about something they want to buy.
