my assumption would be that you aren't big after leaving elpis for the same reason you had to be aetherically reinforced when you came to elpis. the journey is long, and doesn't let aether go back and forth, which is why you're still big when you go back to elpis, the reinforcement is still there for you

realtalk one should probably take most of the events of endwalker as being more metaphor than a literal line of events, especially after like, level 83. meteion isn't massive because meteion is the size she is compared to you.
