Rhee is probably better at explaining than me since the Character is theirs, There might be some documentation on their profile as well, but the way I understood it is that they are external gill structures used to siphon and collect Mushroom spores from the air. My goal was to stay true to their ref images while taking inspiration from gill structures that exist in nature. ^_^
