All New Nightmare (Nightmare Bonnie TF)
We all suffer from nightmares and, just like with any dream, they can be incredibly surreal, but what happens when these surreal nightmares recur or even build off of the last and when does the dream become reality?
This line kept blurring and blurring for Sebastian as the young man felt as if they were being tormented more and more by withering and monstrous animatronic creatures, following, chasing, stalking and even taking him within his dreams, but as time wore on, it’s pouring into his normal waking life.
The Nightmare animatronics were almost following him throughout his daily life. From just seeing them out of the corner of his eyes, be it from a mirror, a window or at the end of the road, they remained, always watching him from afar, waiting for the moment when he joins them in the dream world to repeat it all over again.
Recently however, the torment was forcing Sebastian into his mental corner and he had had it. He refused to run, facing off against the nightmares even trying in vain to fight them with pure determination, he knew in his mind they could not truly hurt him, but this would soon change. The once predictable nightmares began to distort and force Sebastian into a position he could not fight back or even run, be it suspended by chains, held up against the wall or the dream beginning with him already in the arms of his tormentors. It would all come to ahead when one such nightmare began like none of the others, it began in a near featureless environment with a singular light emitting onto a blueish-purple plushie of a rabbit, when as he approached the plushie, suddenly a clawed arm emerged from it and slashed him across his chest, causing him to awaken once again.
In a sigh of relief, Sebastian looked at the time to see it was 6:00AM on a Saturday, a day off, but… something was on his dresser, a note? He never left a note for himself and it sure as hell wasn’t his handwriting, all it said was “We’ll see you soon, there is one that is right for you.” and behind the note was the same plushie of the familiar rabbit named “Bonnie”. The inexplicability didn’t end there, when Sebastian looked down at himself, the slash in this clothing remained! It wasn’t just a dream anymore!
Sebastian tried and tried to go about his day as normal, but the unease was manifesting in its newest fashion. From what was once blurs of the Nightmares out of the corner of his eyes was now just one, the apparition of a black bear animatronic, his body was just as withered, but even more corrupted. His signature nightmarish teeth and claws were much larger and sharper than his counterparts, not to mention their permanent blood stains, what stood out the most to Sebastian about this nightmare animatronic more than the others was his contrasting yellow tophat and bowtie, but even more than that was the gap in his stomach, as Sebastian focused on it just a little more and it was no mouth, it was a maw!, his stomach was another mouth all on its own!
The bear’s persistence trapped Sebastian in his own home as any time he looked outside, the bear was there, but… he wasn’t, nobody, would bat an eye to the black bear in his lawn, even a couple with their dog walking by looked his way yet there was no reaction, they saw right through him! Even worse for Sebastian’s situation, he felt more and more confined as every window he looked out, he was there, waiting for him and with each passing hour he was getting closer and closer that by sundown, he was right there, staring into his soul. The only thing separating the two was a fragile frame of glass.
The fear was too much as Sebastian retreated to his bedroom, hiding under the covers of his bed like a child hiding from the monsters under the bed and at his door. He waited and waited, but there was silence and eerie silence, not even the sound of a single cricket outside either. With what little confidence he had, he poked his head from the top of his covers, to be met with the cold black bear right over him!
Before Sebastian could even make a single sound, the bear whispered one word, stealing all of his energy. “Sleep!”
Sebastian could barely keep his eyes open, sinking into a slumber so deep he may as well have been falling through the bed as he returned to the dream world.
Sebastian awoke to his feet in a familiar hallway, the floor the checkered black and white and the gray walls with the same checkers running along the center. It’s the hallway he’s so often ran through in his nightmares. As he took in the grim but in a way, welcoming scenery, the shivering bite of metal pressed against his right shoulder with the same voice returning.
“Sebastian… You are indeed what I need.” He spoke, his voice as deep as a real bear’s growls
Sebastian on the other hand could not move himself away from the hand, yet could still look at his surroundings and as he turned his head around, he was met with the bear smiling back at his horrified expression.
“Wh-What the hell are you?!” Sebastian stuttered.
A soft chuckle was uttered by the bear as he then placed his other hand on Sebastian’s shoulder
“Why… I am Nightmare. I know you have met my friends, after all, we’ve all had our eye on you for some time.” He smiled from ear to ear, from where he was standing, Nightmare might as well be a king.
“Why me? Of all people, why me?!” Sebastian shouted, his voice echoing before a snap shut it down.
“Why, I see something in you.” Nightmare said confidently, taking his hands off of Sebastian and appeared to be reaching for something, his half body apparition almost searching through his own mind.
“Compared to others, you seemed to have stood your ground against us. Underneath your calm and intelligent demeanor is a feral and unhinged animal! Just like us. You are just like us!”
Nightmare proceeded to wrap his arms around Sebastian’s neck, holding a discolored red bowtie and placing it against the base. The sensation began with a simple click of metal, the bowtie now in place like a lock without a key was digging further inside of Sebastian’s fragile human body as his once warm body felt a growing numbness similar to a frozen mouth. The numbness snaked through him, flowing down his spine and arms, the cold feeling sending shivers further through his body and his breath heavier. The numb feeling was soon interrupted as it reached his fingerprints and the first pains manifested in their place, the tips of Sebastian’s finger’s began to visibly stretch forward coupled with the feelings of needles trying to escape from the inside. As the first few tore any sense of relief vanished as he looked down to see the same kind of metallic claws that Nightmare had, emerging like snakes out of their eggs!
“What the hell?! What’s happening?!” Sebastian panicked, staring at his hand and back at Nightmare as claws emerged one by one.
Nightmare floated behind him with a proud smile and responded “Why this is just the beginning. The beginning of something you can never leave as you shed your humanity.”
The bowtie would react again, releasing a blueish spraying mist, attaching itself to Sebastian’s skin as it stuck and stained like ink and glue, the substance kept building as it seeped into his skin and spreading through his veins, revealing the first part of a grueling process from what felt like peeling off paint. Sebastian’s face turned to horror not for the withered fur coat instead of skin, but the gaping hole in his chest that only grew further down! He could clearly see inside of himself, in turn, revealing the cause of his numbness, his bones had restructured into a true metal endoskeleton, just like an animatronic’s interior.
Sebastian was at a total loss for words as the withering blue coat traveled outward from his hollowing torso, only revealed further by the tears on his stressing shirt, only holding on by mere threads. The coat’s travel up his neck was the most terrifying and all he could do was futilely move his head back, falling back into the arms of his captor and the monster who will be his master. His master?! What was he thinking?! He wasn’t like them! He didn’t want to be! Nightmare settled his hands onto Sebastian’s shoulders once again, feeling the monster that lied inside of Sebastian slowly rising to the outside as his cheek pressed itself forward, cracks turning to creaks and bends of metal, the left side of his cheek yawing open further and further as teeth grew further inside his mouth and replacing his dull human set. The withering of his body continued further down, his legs bending and clicking as his knees malformed, inverting to a hind stance. His own feet had all but shedded his worthless human skin as his shoes ripped apart to reveal completely metal feet holding up an increasingly animalistic frame.
Nightmare began to softly growl, his mouth opening wider and wider “That’s right Bonnie, I can feel you fighting to hold on, there is no need, you will break and give in to me!” He spoke, his tone becoming more and more unhinged as he shed his own polite mask, his fur sprouting outward as he tightened his grip upon his creation. “Your human side is worthless to me! Show me what you truly are! The monster you are! The monster you are made to be! My New Nightmare!”
Sebastian was gasping for air until none was needed as his muzzle pressed forward sweeping across his face as his scream turned to an inorganic hiss. From atop his head, one by one, the once deafening ear ringing had finally begun to die out as his decaying rabbit ears grew atop his head as any sign of humanity, including his hair, fleeted into nothing. Then the one thing he was dreading, his eyes, as they were forced shut, blinding the monster to the world, he could feel his once dreamy brown eyes harden and expand inside of his metallic skull. Nightmare was ecstatic, gripping on his creation even tighter, almost shaking him. In a vocalized sigh, the rabbit opened his eyes revealing to his creator his permanently bloodshot metal eyes, his purple irises and his matching glowing red pupils.
From all that had just happened the rabbit could only ask one thing.
“Is… Is it over?”
Nightmare’s grip would loosen as he nodded, becoming much more gentle as he then proceeded to rip off the stubborn human clothing, revealing his fully transformed body.
“Indeed your physical transformation is complete, you are now one of us, you are a Nightmare just as I am.” He proclaimed proudly.
“There will be no going back to being a human now, in fact, you never were human! You are Nightmare Bonnie and always have been my friend.”
Nightmare then placed his hands upon Bonnie again, leaning closer to his ear. “Forget your human life and embrace this new one I have given you. A monster you once feared and now, you feed off that fear to give you your power! You are a Nightmare!”
He whispered.
Nightmare Bonnie’s posture began to shift, from that of terror, to excitement, he could already feel the fear he once had empowering him as it flowed through his cold endoskeleton and finally, he smiled.
Nightmare himself was grinning from ear to ear and was now at his new friend’s height and asked. “Shall we begin?”
Nightmare Bonnie replied, dipping his head, his smile just as sinister as his master’s
“Yes.”
