Uploading this to my scraps as a test. And to decide whether to not to upload this as text or as a file as future ref. So I'm just leaving this here since I feel like it a bit late to
just slap the story into the orignal this late.
I made this sometime while making the Kobold Scientist. piece a couple month back, but never uploading it alongside or in the piece itself.

The sound of sparks filled the room. Heaps of scraps fill the corners of the dimly lit room, with the only light source covering a small portion of the room. A small white figure sat upon a desk, a metal mask covering their face as the smell of burnt plastic filled the air.
A pale hand appeared as it flipped the mask up, showing a albino face of a small lizard. She covered the device with a small panel before lifting the object up into the buzzing light above her. The light reflected off of the object as the creature smiled.
“Perfect…” She softly said to herself. It was one more work finished by her.
She placed the item onto a shelf, filled with other devices and trinkets that she either found or made. While the room was cramped, it wasn’t a problem due to her size, considering how she was a kobold.
A small beep noise caught her attention as she turned. It was a small disk shaped drone. It hovered toward her gently as the kobold hopped off of her chair. She remembered how she found it during a routine delivery to her buyer. Every time she saw him, her face was filled with
glee and joy.
She looked to the side, toward the mountain of items she had; some were filled with spare parts, while others had makeshift devices she made for her customers. They weren’t neatly placed, some of them were just thrown into a pile, stacking on top of each other. Just before she grabbed a part out of the pile, a golden shine appeared in the corner of her eye, blinding her just a bit. Reaching for the item, tipping on her toes to grab it, she looked down at her hand as she inspected the item. It was a medallion. One from her own time. She completely forgot about it when she left.
As she moves her thumb across the cold metallic surface of the medal, she breathes deeply as she remembers how calm her past was. But at the same time, how deadly boring it was.
Tightening her lips, she frowned as she tightened her grip on the medallion with her claws. It wasn’t fair how she was casted out, she could have done more if they didn’t throw her out. It
was her right! What does it matter if they didn’t want to?!
Tossing the small tinker back into the pile, she lifted a few junks out of the pile as she moved back toward the table. Just as she moved her hand up to her welding mask, she stopped. Her
face became scrunch up before knocking the materials off the table. She yelled in frustration, slamming her fist onto a nearby desk. Her hand shaking as painful memories fill her head.
A low beep noise was heard as she looked down. Her pet drone was looking at her. Her mood softened as she grabbed it, trying to soothe herself.
“Rough day Teya?” A voice called out.
The kobold quickly turned around, gripping onto something in her coat as she faced the intruder. Her face softened but her eyes remained narrowed as she let go, “Oh… It's just you.”
“Figure I check on my favorite scientist.” the man said as he walked toward the desk, carefully stepping over the scattered items on the ground.
“What do you want? If you’re looking for a new chrome, come back later.” She hissed, taking two objects off the ground and onto the table as she started working on her next project, hoping the sour taste in her mind would disappear while doing so.
The man leaning onto the table, blocking one corner of her view “A certain group asked me to do something for them. They want your expertise.”
“Who?” Teya asked, her eyes still focused on her small project, her ears pointing toward the Voice.
“You know who,” The man smirked. “They also offered me a position too. It’s better than what I have right now.”
The burning smell of copper wires and plastic started to fill the room as the small kobold continued, slowing down steadily until she stopped. She didn’t like doing a job for… them. They
have been hounding her for ages since her first tech sale. True, they developed advanced technology which gained her attention, unlike those at the UGS.
The sizzling noises stopped, as the kobold turned toward the man, “What the catch?”
“The usual, chroming up their people,” He said nonchalantly, picking a metal bit off the desk, attempting to not be distracted by the smell. “They were really insistent on you.”
As the man focused on the small bit, he dropped it as soon as he heard the soldering iron drop onto the desk before turning to see the white kobold looking at him, tapping the side of her head as a red visor formed across her emerald eyes.
“When do they want me?”
