Celestane - referred to as Sister Temperance or Blade Saintess - is a high priestess and warrior of the Church of the New Mother, a church dedicated to worshiping Xiomara. She represents Temperance - one of the key aspects of Xiomara.

As Sister Temperance - to all who perceive her, she is a beacon of discipline and mercy. Being soft spoken and rarely interacting with others except for key officials of the Church, she is considered to be one of the most holiest of the priests - second to Mother Humility. As the Blade Saintess she will go out and smite down heretics and unholy monstrosities, allowing those under the holy light of the Church to sleep soundly without danger. In reality however Celestane is actually a husk - a body who is merely possessed and puppeteered by her 'Holy Blade', Rapax. Rapax is a Honedge who is the incarnation of Gluttony, being extremely ravenous and constantly hungry for flesh and blood - using Celestane to 'masquerade' as a holy icon as Sister Temperance all the while. Most often these 'holy battles' that the Blade Saintess is sent out are merely kill orders by Mother Humility or mere murders to satisfy his hunger.

Because Rapax has to keep Celestane as a 'holy beacon of mercy and light', he ensures that none see the true reality of what Sister Temperance in. In combat he uses her form the to the fullest, utliizing swift and agile movements while channeling the demonic essence within him - the essence of Gluttony. By activating this essence he reveals his true form - a wide and dripping maw of teeth. Most often he will tear and devour anything his maw happens upon, draining their flesh and essence and drawing it into his body as essence to burn. Sister Temperance ensures that nothing remains after their kills - not even blood, for that would be wasteful.

Note: Sister Temperance is never seen without her 'holy weapon'. To keep her possessed Rapax must always be on her person, however Celestane has been possessed for so long that she's practically a shell of her former self at this point. If her form were to be injured to the point of uselessness, then Rapax will merely seek out a new host to become the new 'Blade Saintess'.
