Hello from the other You
It's a strange thing, meeting someone who claim to be your parallel.
And yet, something tells you that it is the truth.
The moment their eyes met, Piro could tell, there was no warmth in that gaze.
It felt oddly familiar to him, yet to Piro, this was a stranger. Very strange, indeed, as visually, the stranger was sitting in thin air, with half his legs disappearing into nothingness.
Yet, as his eyes adjusted to the sight, the lizard would be able to make out a shape underneath. A sort of frayed ribbon... no, that wasn't quite it.
It was more like a rip in thin air, unveiling dark red space between layers of reality. Piro's stomach would turn uncomfortably as he thought he spotted disembodied eyes floating around in the ether.
"You. Yes, you must be me." The stranger had addressed him.
This was a very odd thing to say, let alone as an introduction.
"You are confused. That's natural! The first time is always the most confusing. But I can tell. I can smell our dear kitty on you."
Dear kitty... Piro had slipped on Iris' varsity jacket, as the cat had once again mistaken Piro's sweater for his jacket. It wasn't something Piro could ever bring himself to complain about, though, as he found great comfort in the warm lining of the varsity jacket. Not to mention the comforting smell.. the one the stranger apparently also recognized.
"You... you know Ir- Inge?"
Piro was testing the stranger, giving a false name.
To his dismay, the stranger smirked and wagged a finger at him.
"Tsk tsk. That's not his name, is it? I would wager a guess that it's Iris. Am I right?"
The way the stranger worded that made Piro all the more uneasy. It suggested that the stranger didn't know Iris at all, yet he somehow knew his name.
"Alright, pleasantries aside!" The stranger pushed on.
"My name is Poly. Your name is similar to mine, right? However.. you'll need to tell me yours."
Begrudgingly, Piro answered.
"Piro. I'm Piro."
- "Piro... how delightfully charming of a twist!" The stranger guffawed.
"You see, Piro. You and I are connected. I'm from another plain of existence, you can say. But I'm not the only one. You can see it too, can't you? The other sides. You can enter it, I'm sure you can. Even if you're a total newbie, you have the ability, right? A power you can't explain, that no one you know is able to replicate?"
This gave Piro reason to contemplate what he was being told.
This stranger, Poly, knows about Piro's Finger Cuts. His ability to cute holes in reality using his fingers alone. It was also true that he knew no one else who could do it.
A smirk spread across Poly's muzzle, and he held out a hand. A pale white clawed hand.
"Come, Piro. Let's chat, you and I."
