I was totally Gah! over Poul Anderson's flying aliens, the Ythri, from "The People of the Wind" and related stories, and this was among my best pieces. Unfortunately I've only a poorly shot slide that doesn't print all that well. early '80s

An ornithological painter I know would probably give you grief over the shape of the feathers -- in his profession, perfection in details is what its all about. I could never satisfy him.

I'm something of a Poul Anderson fanboy myself, and 'People of the Wind' is one of my favourites. Nice interpretation.
