Stuck in a boring lifestyle with nowhere to go, a young woman finds comfort in playing her cello, something that she's good at.

Cello Comfort

Living in a boring house under horrible parents, and working a boring job as a cashier, young Chelsea only found comfort in one thing she held dear completely to herself. It was playing music. It is the only thing keeping her sane.

For one thing, music is what keeps Chelsea going in being able to express herself more through her cello. However, deciphering her feelings through the notes is not easy. Chelsea, however, is not mute; she can still speak, just not as freely as she wants to.

Chelsea is just coming home after clocking out from yet another boring day on the job. However, something unexpected happened that brightened her day. There was a poster detailing an upcoming talent show and concert that was happening later on. Perhaps this could be the big break that Chelsea needed to get her own message across. She just needed to hide this from her parents.

The next few days went by with little to no activity inside the house, although Chelsea began to play her cello more often. She would practice with it for a period and then start seriously playing it. She would later start going outside with her cello to escape her evil parents.

One day, Chelsea was outside seated alone in a local park area just playing and practicing her cello by herself. The young woman is playing a soft tune to herself when she is suddenly approached by one of her friends. Upon seeing her, Chelsea stops playing and greets her, “Kayla?? Hey! What are you doing here??”

Kayla sits next to Chelsea and reveals, “I stopped by just to visit and see how you are doing, but I also dropped by to deliver an important message - the concert and talent show is happening later this week. Now, I heard about your folks and they're not too friendly. Maybe you can sneak out and we can expose them.”

Chelsea grows disturbed, “They'll notice I’m gone for sure and tighten their rope on me. It's not gonna work, Kayla!”

Kayla chuckles to herself and instead relays to her, “Just tell them you're going out with a friend. I’m sure they’ll more than likely understand.”

On the day of the dual event, Kayla swings by to pick Chelsea up and together, the two girls head to the event.

The event is actually being held at a local performing theater where talents of all kinds vary, ranging from musical arts to fashion runs. Chelsea, however, was looking to do her part in the theater in a musical act. Now, she is finally going to have that chance.

After being screened and auditioning, Chelsea uses her musical practice to play a piece of classical music on her cello. But that isn't all she does. She begins playing a more expressive piece with her cello to make a further impression and release her feelings out. This goes on for a short period until she finally stops, staring at the judges and the crowd before her. There is silence, which leaves the young girl wondering if she will be rejected. But what follows next is something that finally increases her spirits for good.

A slow, gradual applause turns into full applause at the young cello player for her work. And with a standing ovation for her, Chelsea finally gets the chance to make due her own part - exposing her parents.

After a long, expressive speech about the trouble she has suffered under her parents, the judges later agree to keep Chelsea safe by letting her live with one of them when she later expresses her idea of living with her friend, Kayla. Of course, it will take some time in packing up and moving but that is what she wanted. And with that being said and done, everyone was in agreement.

The rest of the talent show went by with Chelsea and Kayla sitting together in the audience, spectating the rest of the event. And all Chelsea can do now is breathe a sigh of relief with her friend while anticipating the arrival of the concert, which also happens to be a smooth jazz concert. All bets are off from this point on and Chelsea can now look forward to a much happier life in her future.
