Thought the blockfox was a piece of tofu when I saw the thumbnail and so Resident Evil 2 Tofu Survivor came to my mind.
Damn awesome piece of art though, I love how well you illustrated the setting through the shading and the darkness of the alley, nice fox tail too!

And nah, no modeling or anything for the background, just simple 3-point perspective lines and painting. For the black fire escape details I just used the line tool. I'm proud of how that brick wall detail came out - what I did was I made a kind of brick pattern and tiled it (make tileable section, make that section a paint bucket tool pattern, fill), and then used transforms to wrestle it into perspective. So a bit of digital art cheating there and I usually hate cheating but I don't mind in this case.
