Goodbyes are never easy, and they're certainly not something we look forward to. For Zoey, her bandmates we're leaving her behind, and their years of rocking out in dive bars and basements was coming to an end. It was happening way too fast. Determined to have one last hurrah before college split them up, Zoey was gonna make sure they went out with a bang!Zoey packed up her drums, admiring the scuffs and scrapes that adorned the once pristine wooden frames. The scars brought a bitter onslaught of treasured memories: past gigs and late-night jam sessions, all wonderful and all but gone. She wiped her snout on the sleeve of her faded denim jacket as the last of her kit was delicately returned into the back of her rusty blue pickup truck.
“You know I’ll miss this,” Joanna called out to the moping drummer from the backstage door. “I don’t want it to end, either, but that’s life. Even the best things can’t last forever, no matter how hard we try.”
