I agree. I think I had kind of got this myth mixed up with another one in my head which is why it turned more horror. I actually like the description of them being helpful to poor people stuck out in the cold by giving them a fur coat... and tail... and cute little ears. I mean it's much easier to survive in the frigid north if you're an otter.
That's the truth if I've ever heard it, otters just are automatically cute and there is no other way to look at it.
