Based on Edgar Allan Poe's short story by the same name.
Originally it was supposed to be a prequel of my old poem "Shadows Dance on the Walls". But after a short research on similar concepts, I found this story I have read a couple of years ago, and got actually impressed how perfect it fits my poem's potential backstory. So, call my old poem a fan fictional sequel of Edgar Allan Poe's story or call this a prequel of my poem based on his story, no matter.
