Hardly a single resident of Trash Planet remembers how she appeared in this place. Just in an instant, she surfaced among the underground fighters, like a hurricane sweeping away all her rivals on her way to supremacy. Silent, fiery, and hungry for other fighters' blood. But there was nothing surprising. The long-lost color of her scales clearly indicated that she was not quite stable. Collecting the teeth of slain opponents went in the same piggy bank. Some said that she also ate them, which was considered an astonishing savagery. But Dere did not respond to this, only snorting and rolling her eyes as if she had heard some nonsense. Because of her white hair, she was also said to be the bastard of the imperial family. But as a rule, such talkers didn't live long.
It took some time to find out her name. After another fight, she was asked about it by a child who had been watching from the stands all this time. Surprisingly, she answered calmly, but loudly.
-Dere. My name is Dere.
But really, a lot of that kind of gossip was quite true. So let me tell you about it from the narrator's side.
Derekrera Kel, or simply Dere. The first and only princess of the Empire of Lima. It was the largest empire of the time that built its power on conquering all the surrounding territories.
She was the second child in the family and her appearance undoubtedly pleased her father, who did not dote on the girl. After her brother's coronation, she was to take the post of his Counselor - the second person after the Emperor. Because of this, the girl's education began at an early age. In addition to the basic sciences, she was also trained in swordsmanship, shooting, military science and magic. She had an extremely warm relationship with her brother, because he took care of his sister following his father's example.
Their mother passed away shortly after the birth of her daughter. Even after the birth of her children she did not want to stay at home, having led an important military campaign and even her husband could not dissuade her. Though they were victorious, there was a gaping hole in the Kel family that day. The Emperor never married a second time, having failed to find a woman worthy of it. At the same time, the Counselor's seat was empty.
But what made the girl leave her native place and go to a place where a variety of rabble gathered? It was an illness, mental and physical. It was acquired when the young princess was kidnapped. Her father had many enemies, and a much-loved daughter was a weakness that could be pressured.
I want to make it clear that lurks cannot digest the meat of their own kind. After all, it literally makes them beastly, robbing them of their minds and causing their scales to fade. Purple in such a case is the best sign that a lurk has ever tasted its own kind. Such become outcasts, for you never know what might come into the minds of such savage creatures.
But back to Dere. Not that she was planned to be released safely or cared for in any way. That's why she was placed in a cage next to some slave who was already showing little signs of life and died on the second day. Hungry, frightened and full of misunderstanding Dere decided that it probably wouldn't be so bad to take a bite. So slowly and slowly a part of her neighbor was nibbled. Because of the cold in that place and the infrequent checks, no one cleaned the corpse and it spoiled slowly, letting it last a certain amount of time.
How she was taken from there Dere remembered badly. But as a matter of fact, she was rescued and tried to heal. At public receptions, she rubbed a special pigment into her scales to give them a fiery red color that matched that of her father and brother. But it couldn't go on indefinitely. So, after collecting some money, things and a commemorative pendant given by her brother, she escaped, leaving a note to her family. She also had to steal a ship from a military hangar, but it wasn't that hard. It was harder to fend off its tracking sensors and steal the keys.
In general, so she lurked on the Trash Planet, so as not to bother anyone and not to interfere. And she made the ship her home, thinking it was a good solution.
