Out of all alien species that are physically strong, Plantarans are nearly unmatched. Plantarans are bug-like creatures that stand on two legs, toting multiple arms, warm and or cool colors, standing 9-24 feet tall and sometimes will have multiple unique features. A long time ago, it was assumed they had only one eye before many more sprouted from underneath it's origin point. That their very evolution was unnatural, that they were betrayed by their gods to become weapons of war. At least, that’s what their mythology would have you believe... However, on closer inspection it really was just a wild ride of evolutionary traits. With most Plantarans being born with certain mutations that grew out overtime.
Examples of these mutations can include making them into large centipede monsters, giving them over eight arms, deadly poisonous spikes, laser eyes, giant pinchers- this species traits are explosive and ever expanding! It also doesn’t help they can interbreed with any other alien species as their offspring can usually take even more vicious and wild forms. There are Plantarans who are eyeless, some who have wings, some who look shockingly like a human, although one thing seems pretty apparent as it bleeds into their personality... Most of this species love, and value combat above all else. On the right you can see a "baseline" Plantaran that doesn't have many unique traits taking down a few Angel-Tech goons. Most Plantarans will even “spar” with one another to destroy each other’s horns. The loser if their horns are destroyed? Will be outcasted, laughed at and they’ll usually wither away from “loss of pride”.
Plantarans are, fascinating but are very hard to document. Their society is also massively expanding as they usually pick whoever is strongest to lead. Sometimes this can become a monarchy or even a more democratic system. (The Plantaran Republic is a big example.) As long as it ends up with them fighting one another or other alien species, they’re a-okay. Plantarans have strived for peace, but an arena MUST be built to keep them happy. This was very prevalent during the Plantaran Republic’s time of peace and before the War of Love, there was public bouts where various alien races and other factions HAD to send their warriors in to participate in their sports. This was all for “upkeeping the peace”, and they do not believe in a realm without war or violence. (There are also a few documents that the War of Love started because a Plantaran General lost his son to the Love-Bots in one of these barbaric sports the Love-Bots were forced to take part in, and the General decided to glass one of their main capitals.)
Despite their brute-like nature they can be dangerously smart as they’ve reinvented warfare time and time again in the universe... Always be careful when one is on a battlefield, and you better hope they’re not leading an army.”

...The Plantarans are a race I talk about a lot in Skin to Scales, and it's weird they don't have a dedicated data log, but neither do the Love-Bots... Something I'll probably be doing next is working on a individual Love-Bot sheet, but- I wanted to get this one out of the way first, and the Love-Bot one will take quite a bit of time.
Until next time! Thanks for reading!

I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.

Fun Fact: Despite them looking like "Demons" or "Devils" or even "Oni", they are not- and they also are not part of the "Flexile" family that many of the spirits of Skin to Scales are a part of.
Fun Fact 2: Plantarans were one of the first races created for Skin to Scales, along with Tulivores and Mimins, long before Kobolds were introduced and other fantasy elements.

Those are awesome to see! I absolutely love the tree looking colorization of them, making them the type of terrifying creatures that would seemingly able to easy to camoflauge in any jungle environment! This is so cool to see at face value and I'm excited to see their species' lore to be later expanded upon in further materials! Keep up the amazing work!
