I love how Slayer is confused by Life gesturing to the wrong spot, heh.
Also, it's wonderful to see Life actively trying to mend the wounds of the past, and it feels soothing to my heart to see Life be so supportive of Drift's situation, challenges and quirks.
Trauma is a bitch, and you've done so well at showing that side of the story, but without it becoming too much of the focus and drowning the story itself, and I love that.

I'm curious. Here we have outcasts, a guilt-laden leader, a mentally and emotionally injured savant survivalist and Master Yinglet Spirit Force Ghost. Oh, and what amounts to an Evil Queen who has taken their Rightful Home from them. This story is outright epic.

I love it! I love being surprised in this way! I love havingt the Epic story creeping up on me and not even knowing it's happening until I'm up to my ears in the Epic!
And yes, you are absolutely right. Every story needs at least one force ghost. Or a doc brown... who might have actually been a force ghost. YaY!
