With the completion of stage 9 drawing ever closer, I decided to post up a few screenshots. These are all from stage 9 (Umbreon stage 3). Not much to say other than the top-right screen is intended to hint at a bit of a new direction the game goes upon reaching the third set of stages. Allow me to explain.
As I've said before, stages 1-4 are essentially just tutorial stages. Afterwards is when the real game begins. Aside from how elaborate the Charizard stage is, levels 5-8 are pretty much just much larger, more challenging versions of the same stages. Some new types of enemies and obstacles are thrown at you, but the core idea of the stages is still the same. However, to help keep things feeling a little bit more fresh, I plan on throwing in some changes to stages 9-12 to let them stand out aside from just increased difficulty with new enemy and puzzle types. Some of these changes will be applied to actual gameplay (such as the mystery of why Umbreon can't find any of Celebi's buttons), to things that will be a bit more cosmetic. These changes, however, don't change the core gameplay, or your objectives. For example, you'll still have to use buttons to proceed in the Umbreon stages once you figure out how. They're just simply used as a means to make the stages feel a bit more fresh and/or challenging.
The screenshot sets for stages 10-12 will contain shots hinting at the new implication of those stages as well, to give you all an idea of what to look forward to in the later parts of the game.

It doesn't matter how much hit damage you take from a specific source. The game over is based on the final blow you take. And yes, any wind attack that knocks Umbreon back triggers one (though I haven't tested to see if that game over would be replaced with a different one if you collide with an enemy, rather than with a wall, now that I think about it).
