Reyna layed soundly on her woven hammock that was suspended above the pearl patio. She's been home alone since day break and has been waiting for her husband and kid to return from their fishing trip.
She's always wondered how the duo discovered a fishing spot here in karoo; a vast dry area fully of shrub and grass. Though Reyna assumed the two ventured down a detour on their walk back or were straight up lost. The city planners really know how to blend parks with residential homes and roadways although it was well labelled unlike most places of the country.
Reyna had a sip of her favourite wine, Vin de Constance by Klein Constantia. It was a rare occasion for her to kick back and relax and she wouldn't expect to find another like this. Not anytime soon.
An hour passed yet the boys still haven't returned. Reyna began to doubt the safety of the area but shoved the thoughts right out of her head. She peered out the front window periodically hoping to find a glimpse of the pair. She contemplated on calling but had second thoughts. 'What if they were bonding' she thought to herself.
Reyna retired to her bedroom then stood by the panoramic window. The scene outside was the same shrub lands that she'd fell in love with all those weeks ago. A pair of binoculars begged for attention on the side table and she happily equipped them.
Sounds of footsteps made her big brown ears swivel. Reyna knew she wasn't alone. She followed the source of the sounds as she made her way down the hall. Her claws unsheathed and sharp teeth barring ready for attack. Her soft paw pads silenced her movements as she patrolled though the house.
She felt like she's following a ghost, a waste of time. Lowering her guard the woman began to walk back to her bedroom. When suddenly "Boooo!" Reyna was surprised. A fearful meow escaped her lips. Then her husband and child shouted "Happy mother's day!" Reyna's fur was stand on end from the fright. The two two then showered Reyna with love and present.
