Grand Mother Moon looks watches on high the children of the night time. She witnessed Raccoon on many nights playing tricks, stealing, and desiring those things bright and shiny; all with no apology. For the mischievous ways of Raccoon, Grand Mother Moon decides to play a trick on him. She cast her reflection into the water and waited. As raccoon came to the pool for his nightly drink he see the greatest of shiny treasures with in reach. He tired and tried to catch her to keep her for his treasure, but it was just a reflection.
That is why Raccoon to this day put his paws in the water. He is trying desperately to catch Grand Mother Moon.

I have been ponding away on this one for days *Sigh*. This was lesson 2 in my attempt to Master watercolors. Yes, those are transparent watercolors I used. This was a rough piece, one in which I am not totally happy with, but it did teach me many valuable lessons.

Some people never do quite learn their lesson, do they.
I love the mischievous look in Raccoon's eye. But I'm afraid I can't blame him for wanting shinies... Liking pretty things doesn't really hurt, unless you get too attached to them and turn jealous. (Jealousy poisons everything!) ...or greedy, that was Raccoon's flaw. (Greed turns our attention from people to things!) Poor raccoon, he'll always be disappointed.
Your art is beautiful, I admire you for that.
