Zach, like many, has had a pretty rough upbringing in his low-income household. He's had to act much older than his years when it comes to rearing his siblings.
The eldest: his sister, Shay, is broken and aloof as she blames him for her leaving the family so suddenly. They were so similar and so close as kids, now they dare not even speak one another's names without bile welling up in their throats.
The second oldest, his bother, Lawrence, in and out of jail and can't stop finding his way into a woman's bedroom every other night. Doesn't exactly fit what one would call a "positive" male role model. He and Zach were never really close. Everything that Zach saw in him reminded him of his absent father.
Arisha, his full-blood younger sister, sent to live with a wealthier family after his mother gave her away for a better future.
And so many more.
Zach tries not to hate his family, but he sees the disparity in his neighborhood and his mother's constant drinks and suitors make him want to run away. But he can't leave his siblings. So he recalls on the one thing that his mother taught him that always brought him peace.
Mediation
It wasn't much, but whenever he could, Zach would find a quiet place to sit down and mediate like his mother taught him. Recently he's begun to see strange snake-like auras around him that have peculiar colors. Red, Green, and Orange. It's funny, those colors seem oddly familiar...
