One of three illustrations that I've done for a story (with the same title) by Opaline Fox that will be published in the upcoming Heat #8.
I am learning to use textures in my digital art, yey! :D
Oh, and the composition is odd like that because it's a spread so text will go over the right side.
Edit: Derp, I even successfully mistyped my own name on the previous version. I'm so tired, haha.

A lot of it is just free for use textures, played with brightness/contrast and such and painted over to not make it look as artificial. Rain is a brush that I motion blurred, rain drops and such drawn in. This wasn't quick to do by any means, but a lot faster than it would have been had I done it traditionally. @_@
Props to total immersion of the characters drawn in the environment. You went to that detail of the feline's wet fur, sharing the already sheltered vixen, which leads to the expression being completely believable. Mix that with how they are dressed and you captured a unique moment, in full clarity. Always nice to see new things from you.

Fox tail + Rain = Lead weight.
Still, pretty awesome! Love the background especially. Looks almost like a photo until you get to the backdrop where it fades. Little too much blurry there compared to the foreground, even for perspective's sake.
Also, the vixen seems to be interested in things other than that toothy smile...
