Approx 300 words— there is my thoughts at the end
There once was a cat named Kite who couldn't sleep
No, not even after a midnight treat!
Settling in bed and lying on his midnight mittens,
“It is way too dark in here!” cried the kitten!
“It had been hours since I laid in bed!”
If not night, then Kite would try light instead!
The cat stood on his haunches and launched towards the light.
He pawed it on and went to his bed, hoping to catch a Z that night.
He settled in his bed, lying on his bright midnight mittens,
“Oh no! Now it is way—way too light in here!” cried the kitten!
“If the light did not work, and neither the midnight treat
Then perhaps I need to listen to some nighttime beats.”
Kite shut off the light and kicked on the boombox,
“Aha! A song to take me to the mountaintops!”
At last, Kite coiled into bed, lying on his trembling midnight mittens.
“Too loud, now it is way—way too loud in here!” cried the kitten!
“Not light, not music, not even a snack,
What is there that I lack?”
In a flash, his whiskers twitched
As something in the corner of his eyes pitched!
“What was that? What was that?” Kite did not know.
So he vaulted the windowsill in hope for a show!
“There! There! In the night sky!
Twinkling—twinkling, as if they fly!”
He laid on his midnight mittens, under the night.
Kite declared, “It is not dark, nor too bright.”
And before he knew it, his eyes fluttered underneath the midnight loom,
Kite slept atop the crescent, night-light moon.
My thoughts after the project:
This was a school project done with my brother, now I never actually passed highschool so I didn't think I could help. Until he mentioned writing lol. Now there were a lot of requirements here: first the need of rhyming schemes and alliteration/enjambment and so on. Secondly they required colouring and drawing ofc. They also required the use of two special artistic additions (the sand and reflective paper cutouts.) They didn't actually have glitter so that was nice, apparently high school kids can't be trusted to keep the area clean lol.
Now for actual meat, we obviously aren't the best at drawing. You can see how poor it is here, even with most of it being somewhat traced over from a how-to draw video. The coloring was also bad at times; we ran out of coloring pencils on multiple occasions and had to resort to markers/crayons thus the inconsistency in the colouring.
However, regardless of all that… I think it looks okay. And I like it ;w; It was fun writing something that would be mainly for children, so there wasn't much deep deep thought. But there was enough for it to be enjoyable. And it made me feel sort of fulfilled finishing this all. There's no better way to put it than— it has maybe re-rooted the seed of writing in me.

It was very nice! I liked the drawings and thought they looked very good. The whole idea is very sweet and it was nice to see the cat manage to get his sleep in the end.
I liked this fragment: "Kite shut off the light and kicked on the boombox,
“Aha! A song to take me to the mountaintops!”"
Haha, I feel like that sometimes when I listen to music.
Nice to see that it was enjoyable for you too! I think it turned out great.
