Igor stares at the R&B album Nanny brought to him from Transylvania's only Goodwill thrift store. Within his old, wrinkled, moist bird hands lies the fourth album of one of the greatest vocalists in history.
Anita "The Queen of Quiet Storm" Baker with her 1990 album - Compositions
With the jewel case reflecting his beak at him, he gawks at the album, calling it a mediocre product. Despite his opinion that Anita Baker is stunning in her wide range of octaves, he finds the production of this and her other albums to be nothing more than dull rubbish compared to her best album, Rapture. Rapture is Baker's best album and one of the greatest albums of the 80s. Though cheesy, the production of Rapture indeed elevates it beyond most R&B albums of that time, which were trying to cash in on the quiet storm phase. The combination of soul and jazz in that album is something that many artists tried but failed to achieve. However, artist Anita Baker, with her voice of pure ecstasy, is among the few who succeeded.
While Igor finds Compositions a mediocre album, he acknowledges that, although it is not as outstanding as Rapture, it is still a good listen for any true Anita Baker fan.
It still shows itself as relaxing music or background cleaning music while you polish your thumbscrews and rusty urethral sounds.
