"So...got any ideas for how to get out of this?" Ember asked as both her and Fang were sinking in a nasty quicksand.
How did this happen? It was supposed to a fun, harmless celebration of a special day. But no, both Fang and Ember found themselves in the realization that they would need nice, long baths (once they got out) and they would have to figure out what to do about a gift; as the cake would definitely be ruined by the quicksand.
Fang could feel her legs were stuck, as the surface of the quicksand hugged her waist.
"Well, I could turn into an animal, something that could fly." Fang said, "But the process may get more of myself stuck."
"That and dropping the cake." Ember pointed out.
"And dropping the cake." Fang begrudgingly admitted, "Hopefully my daughters didn't wander too far ahead and come back for us in time..."

So, May 16th is my birthday, and in addition to the pictures I get myself, I am very fortunate to have great friends who like to gift me with pictures as well. :). This one, drawn by
usagiforehead was gifted to me by my friend Jungledeities where it seems his Fang and my Ember got me a cake, but the cosmos has other plans. ;)
A lovely and fun picture, the girls look great, and you gotta love the surprised expressions, Ember seems quite worried about that cake. And who can blame her, it’s a nice-looking cake, very thoughtful of these two. And equally nice looking quicksand, gotta love those deep sink lines around them and great depths here too, and their hair floating on the surface looks very nice. Hopefully the cake will be okay. ;). A fun and very thoughtful birthday gift, from them and JD, though I doubt these the girls appreciate it as much as I do. ;).

I think with Ember, she might have to accept that she will have to deal with Quicksand on this particular day to be an annual thing. As well as anybody she would bring along for it ;). Though Ember is right, if Fang does turn into a bird there goes the cake. And nobody wants that!
