Apparently, Linux had a much more obscure, unofficial mascot. A fox who, from my understanding was originally just called LinuxFox, and was promptly forgotten as soon as Tux won the nomination. Perhaps she thought she should be a little chubby like him.
Also, while I suspect she'd know JavaScript, she's certainly familiar with C. Bonus points to anyone who can guess what the code in the bubble refers to.
