Here, we have Rosalyn in her younger years, with her black belt. She learned some basics from her dad at first before starting to be trained formally at the age of 10. There, she met Iris, the only other girl in the class and someone who was both a year older than her and had been training there for a bit longer (yeah, I'm doing a bit of ret-conning). By their teen years, Rosalyn and Iris had become the two strongest disciples in class by a wide margin, and at the age of 16/17, Rosalyn earned her first black belt. A year later, she entered the Avalon Isle Kumite with Iris.
