Roper is awesome, she has the ability to drag prey into her gaping maw and devour them whole...her prey is usually the media. Her Tentacles also do D6 Reason(wisdom) drain. For a CR 12 creature she's pretty tough. I use her against my PC's often^.^

Besides, if you were anywhere near Stevens Point, WI. I'd invite you to my gaming group, we're serious, but we also know to have a little fun here and there. Plus I'm sure you wouldn't mind not having to cook. My group helps prepare each meal for game.
