Lore: Rubberclaw lives in 30's America, during the Great Depression. Being in a toon world, nobody can die from toony antics like being eaten, just being redrawn later. This has lead to diners and restaurants taking up willing toons to be meals for those that can afford them.
Lower class toons are given to cheap diners for the low pay classes to eat, while more middle class toons are dolled up for the rich classes. The meal toons are paid well, depending on the establishment.
