Spring Raffle Prize for

My god did this picture turn into a monster. I was only asked to draw basically the left side of the picture with Cheera and Nex. Well next thing I know, I've gone and filled out the rest of the tavern with a bunch of other characters to try and make the scene feel far more alive. I've been slowly grinding away on it for the past month and a half, but it really came together in the past two days. Despite how long it took, I am very happy I spent the extra effort and really love how it all turned out.
Anyways, time to work on some other stuff. Next raffle for summer will be coming up. Hopefully I can stop myself from doing something so crazy again... eh who am I kidding.

Comics prove a whole different challenge and I find it difficult to fit a natural amount of dialog on a page. So while I think the comic idea would have been less work, I think it would have been less satisfying as either the pacing would felt rushed, or the page would have become just a gaggle of word balloons.
It doesn't help that my style of writing dialog tends to be rather long and my style of comics also tends to be somewhat deconstructed with less dialog per panel. When I did those Kaj prank pages it was actually a struggle to try and make the dialog feel decent in the limited amount of space.
Yaaay, I was curious about what Nex wanted. I think it was a nice idea with his two characters together in a tavern. I admit that I would feel so lucky if I won in that summer raffle. xD But people are paying for art and it would be for free, so I would feel a little bit guilty.
Cheera and Nex look amazing with your style! So cute! It was interesting for me to see how Puaro drawn Nex and how you did; these two styles definitely look much different.
The tavern looks very nice and inviting too. And nice lighting. It was interesting to see on the timelapse how you created all of it.

It was a good idea. Just one that I expanded way too much. Also, don't feel bad if you did win the summer one. No one really commissions me for anything, but I have a day job and don't really need the money. So, it's fine. I'm mainly looking for interesting stuff to draw.
Yeah, it's interesting that the two pictures were posted on the same day. I'm not actually sure I got the German Shepard look down for Nex to my satisfaction, but that just means I need more practice.
I think the funniest thing about the timelapse is you can see all of the funny stuff I did on stream that was erased before the final piece.
