I may not be the biggest DnD nerd around, but playing through Baldur's Gate 3 gave me a newfound appreciation for the delightful Illithid, so what better way to live up to that idea? Why, by making a character around it of course.
Cut to my dear friend
creepygun being an absolute blast and working with me on this bad boy, with whom I have named Vahlok the Damned.
General idea for this lad being a member of the Cult of the Dragon, after being abducted aboard a Nautiloid and it crashing, he clung to life barely before making a deal with the Many Mawed Queen (that being Tiamat for those unaware of her nicknames.). While she did nothing for him physically, she nullified the potential of the Illithid Tadpole placed within him, granting it's benefits without fear of permanent ceremorphosis. (Inspired by the events of Baldur's Gate 3)
Now he focuses on utilizing the technology and knowledge of the Illithid in order to find some way to repay his debt to her, and what more fitting method of that than assisting her escape from Avernus?
Main inspirations for this lad being my general love for anything Illithid, Elemer of the Briar from Elden Ring, The Lich King from Warcraft, The Knight from Dead by Daylight and a general love towards villains, which I seem to have a habit of wanting to create.
Aspects of him may seem a tad silly/op for people that actually play D&D, and this was made more for love of the setting than being a purist for the tabletop game.
