The only point of critic would be perhaps the scene being too dark regarding a few details? Like Sonnypup himself and the very faint reflection in the water?
It makes my eyes strain as my brain attempts to render all the details that are present in the picture, but cannot? Because it really is a bit too dark?
But if you only focus on the two characters "as is" then it really looks fantastic!

I agree, I was trying to figure out how to make Sonny 'light up' more, because I think he's a bit dark as well. But well, he IS black and black just doesn't show that well in dark scenes xD His fault for choosing a dobermann >:| xD I can try and tinker with it a bit more, I think you gave me some ideas ^^
Maybe my screen is just too bright; my screen's brightness it almost always really high. If you turn brightness up a notch, maybe it'll help you with the dark bits.
