Yeah, if they actually did do something new. Usually the romantic couple breaks up after having several fights, and then there's lots of angst. My husband and I figure that writers just can't bring themselves to write "happy couples having a good relationship" stories. Gotta always have the conflict.
The purest incarnation of Main Character Syndrome and unhealthy straight men's predatory dating habits presented as pure romantic desire,
and chief protagonist of the hit comedy show How I met Your mother (spoiler alert, who Mother is revealed to be has gone down as one of the worst endings in all of television.)

Well the signs were always there, so I guess it's not that surprising they were on a on and of relationship. Looking back considering how much they interacted I suppose something like this was bound to happen at some point. XP
Also found it pretty interesting Tristan's the one asking all these questions.

Haha they are like that couple from high school that are on and off again. Take a long break then like a decade down the line, boom they married with like 2.5 kids.
The opposites that, in general, wouldn't attract yet deeper emotions and values at play influence their interactions. I'm curious to see what first brought them together.

Well, they could have been just like fire and water from their personalities, but looking back I think how they ribbed at each other was a little too much even for that.
There had to be something else and considering how peaceful the area looks where they live, there was little that could have happened. And if there had been some kind of incident that makes them go off at each other like that there would have been something in their verbal jousting that hinted at it.
That leaves something very personal like a personal relationship. And there I circle back about their personalities. Mirelle might also secretly wish to be a little more disciplined like Leo, while he might secretly wish to be able to let go like she does.
Just as much as they push each other away, that could also be the reason they are attracted to each other.

Honestly, I can see two possibilities:
1) He's extremely good in bed, and disturbingly skilled at 'angry sex'.
2) He has that kind of Pavlovian reaction with anger, where he automatically gets heated up about stuff, but just as quickly calms down and sees the errors of his ways when someone he respects (either the Tree or someone of similar superior status) calls him out on it.
Neither is a particularly good trait, but for some folk, they can still be adequate compensation for the rest of his flaws.

Honestly, if Chili's counting the times the two have ever argued, walked away for a day or so, then come back with cooler heads and made amends, I can see them reaching 17 occasions and counting. It just means their claims of "We are so DONE with each other!" don't actually carry much weight. X3
There have been no signs of this at all, even in Book 0. The two are barely able to mutually agree on anything, let alone tolerate each other enough to begin with, so this new information feels out of left field. And no, I don't count Luna as evidence since it felt more like the stereotypical mother behavior where she kept unsubtly and almost aggressively pushing their child of the opposite gender with their friend because she thinks the two of them were "very close" at a young age.
so this is canon then :0

Not to mention the last question on this one.

'Getting together' has developed some odd meanings, I think. The absolute most I could see between these two is angry, hormone driven sex after some sort of conflict, then both of them being angry at giving in to the feelings of the moment and hating the other for being there so it happened in the first place.
To me 'getting together' would require them to actually be able to calm down with each other for a while, agree on some things and show some affection... things these two do NOT appear to have in them when it involves the other.

...Anyone else think Nigel is in the background and silently pantomiming their previous breakup?
I mean, while he denied watching the Guardians before, Nigel been clearly spying on them for years to find that one moment where he could slip into Luna's dwelling and sneak one of the badges...
...May mean that in doing so, he had to watch each guardian who would have to patrol that area... Meaning he may have seen Leo and Miralle's many dates... And the resulting break up(s)...
It amuses me to imagine Nigel finding the first five to ten times funny... Then getting bored of the other failed dates, to the point he can remember what caused it this time and that time... Or, you know, he remembers the actual number of dates that Miralle and Leo have been on (Chilli said she "lost count after seventeen", implying there were more), and what caused it, whose fault it was each time, and on which end of the scale... All while Chilli and Tristan just stare at Nigel in utter shock, and Miralle and Leo both look like they have eaten two helpings of Chilli's cooking from how red they have turned...
...And from the steam coming off Leo at how he's either angry at Nigel for spying on them, or outright embarrassed that Nigel had spied on them for years and that he hadn't noticed!
Or both... Either way, I can imagine Nigel then stomping away (Yes, I can imagine him tripping in the process) while stating that he's off to find another area to sleep until they bloody well stop arguing.
