
Just tossing up a WIP drawing to scraps for personal tracking again, this time I used a watercolor brush to block out posing, using different colors for different parts/characters. Unsure how much I'll continue on this one, I may use it for a pose reference as I do think I want to see this particular "scene" done well. Idea was that he's standing alone in the rain staring down at an empty space that he's shielding with his wing, with the empty space to be later filled by another character.
Process change with the colors/layering/extra step of rough sketching definitely seems to help, especially now that I'm starting to get a better idea of proportions, need to get more used to opening references and using them as I draw - I've been doing these from memory to both help practice and figure out if there were features that I was consistently forgetting, to change/remove, but that wing shape is... less than stellar to say the least
