Paw Fashion 21: 'Defender' boot
One of the suggestions I got for a design to try was a more modern military combat boot, so I thought I'd have a go at it. I don't tend to care for the look of laces quite as much myself as a fashion thing, but they certainly have their practical uses. So here is a take on a digitigrade pair of modern combat boots. The laces allow one to get the fit more or less perfect, but they've also got an inside zipper for quick on and off once that's done. The zipper's got a silencer to keep the boots stealthy when that's called for, too. Construction involves rugged soles for a wide variety of terrain types, leather around the paw, and some sort of high-tech waterproof but breathable fabric compound in the shaft.

*giggles* Could be useful for distracting enemies maybe... but I wouldn't want my toes getting shot or stabbed or stubbed. As for airports, that's why the inside zipper is there. Gets 'em on and off pretty fast so you don't have to deal with the laces anymore once you've gotten them adjusted. ^^ Based largely on a pair I've actually got that takes that approach.
Oh! Totally missed the zipper. Niiiiice. Wish I would have had something like that a few years ago. Used to always wear my 13 hole Doc Martens until security started beefing up in the airports and they kept making me take'em off.
And yeah, Dorey toes would be a hell of a distraction - but hey, could just drop a bunch of propaganda packets on the enemies to show them what they're missing. :P

Gah, yeah I can imagine that would be a real pain. >..< It's nice to have the option of taking them off quickly, though annoying it has to be a consideration too. There's sort of a fun ritual and sense of purpose in spending a little time lacing up and tying a tall boot that doesn't have a zipper.

*chuckles* Lots of laces are also fun in the opposite regard - a friend or mate taking them off to get at those paws would be nice too.
And yes - that or "Surrender and we'll arrange for apologetic paw rubs of beauties like these!" You'd see white flags popping up all over the place.
