Ease in trading out big things like engines, radios and the like maybe; but when there's no where left to stick it there'll be a little soldered in relay (because it'll never go bad!) behind the dashboard - and you can't get them to pull the ejection seat or remove the stick so you can get your head/hands/shoulders up and under there ...
