They/any pronouns for character (if using a non-english language, then either go for whatever pronoun reads as "default" to you or whatever is most "neutral". or just use whatever feels right. we won't stop you.)

Art of an OC of ours for a tournament. Fun fact: dune crickets only have one sex, unlike humans and similar species, who are bisex. As such, when anthromorphizing a dune cricket, they wind up with a dramatically different view of gender - lacking a "male" or "female" by default, when interacting with other species who do have a more distinct concept of gender, especially ones where the gender you present as... matters, things can get a bit tricky.

When you don't fit into the framework of "male" and "female", when you were hatched with a body that could never fit into any of the boxes that the very language that you use imposes on things, things can become alienating very quickly. Bau isn't the sort to be bothered by it, honestly, but it does take some patience to have to explain this sort of thing to people over and over again. The language that they speak lacking a "true neutral" pronoun doesn't really help with explaining things.
