On his daily strolls through the jungle of his new home - the Island - he stumbled upon a group of small creatures. At first, the bird stood still, not knowing what they were up to, but his worries were quickly relieved as they approached him with humbleness and great adoration. The lizard-like creatures took him by the hand and excitedly brought him to their village and he gladly followed suit. It was quickly apparent that they cherished fruits as their primary food source and even held them as offerings for their gods as apparently, they have been blessed with fertile grounds to plant and raise extraordinary plants to feed on!
Little did the recently stranded avian know... the vibrant coat of his skin reminded them a little too much of their beloved snacks...
Finally, I could work out on a piece for the Island setting and it's in the annual tradition of featuring the lovely headpiece to hopefully brighten up your day and let it be warm and fruitful!

Ohh haha, yes indeed this looks like "I remember that time a bunch of kobolds took me for a fruit and tried to eat me, now wouldn't you like to know how I got out of that situation, my grand-children"?
Very sweet image in my head ^v^
Thank you, my friend!

Oh yes it was my inspiration for this scene, just gotta love it all the way, one of my all time favourite movies! ^v^
Someone was also suggesting it came from that scene from the Lion King where Timon has to bait a bunch of hyenas. Can't deny the combination is enticing ^v^

Well if he's stranded there, surely there can be something in the shipwreck to appease them as to not get messed with for future encounters haha.
Do love the colours though, kinda fun juxtaposition with how vibrant everything is with the peril of the piece. Looks very good overall though I do quite like it. Also compared to last years piece rather neat to see how your birds facial structure has changed

There might be indeed! :D
I had thought of a solution but it's slipping my mind right now <v<
It definitely involved befriending the kobolds into not thinking of me as a fruit...
And thank you for your critique! ^v^ Vibrant colors are always what I strive for. And yes, compared to any fruit hat piece, the beak face changed slightly. At least now I'm sporting a suitable vulture beak ovo
Let's see how long it'll last! ^v^

I'm commenting a bit lately, but I immediately adored this piece when I saw it - the compo and expression work so well haha ! Poor Souvie, it's gonna be hard to flee ! Next time, he will probably manage to hide or alter the colour of his coat, so the lizardmen won't take his skin for fruits !
No worries! I only now get to slowly work through the notes from the last two months <v<
Thank you! I am glad you like it so much!
And don't worry... maybe the lizards can be persuaded somehow...?
I didn't think too much of how to escape the situation, but I had hoped to give enough clues to hint where it's going :3
