Just a bit of a lore post of Zachary Blake, the Benefactor's henchman and main antagonist of my upcoming comic, during his days in the Provisional IRA. He was a skilled fighter and smuggler and a firm supporter of the cause, just like his father before him. When the Pro IRA disbanded in 2005 Blake and a number of hardliners lead by a man named Logan Murphy banded together and formed a breakaway faction called Murphy's Sons of Liberation or MSL for short. For a short time, they were a thorn on the side of the British government in no small part due to Blake's connection to the Black Market. One day their hideout was discovered and the British Army attacked in strength overwhelming the defenders. Blake was the only one to get away by the skin of his teeth. However, his escape did not go unnoticed and the government issued a manhunt for the fugitive arms dealer. Fortunately for Blake, agents working for an entity they referred to as "Their Benefactor" managed to smuggle him out of the country. Their Employer meets with Blake acknowledging his talents and knowledge of trafficking contraband and offered him a spot in his Organization promising him a life of tenure and profit. An offer which Blake takes without hesitation.

Shouldn't he be taking Sexy Secretary Andra as a hostage, or perhaps a secretary to keep track of his gun-running purchases? RPGs, munitions, and other fun weapons need to be supervised with proper accounting principles driven by OEM recommended maintenance cycles to make sure that the stock is correctly rotated for freshness.
He has extensive knowledge. His great-grandfather was an Anti-Treaty guerrilla during the Irish Civil War and his grandfather and father were both fervent members of the Provisional IRA (until they died). Naturally, he grew up around guns. He’s basically like Yuri Orlov from Lord of War. At first he smuggled old AKs and M16s left behind in old warzones overseas to supply his fellow IRA militants and sells the surplus off to black market vendors or warlords who eventually give him the connections to start buying and trading for more advanced modern weaponry. Connections he maintained and expanded on during his tenure in the ZSD.
