One day, after becoming lost in the woods once again, Gretel is invited into the house of a seemingly kind old woman who offers her some steamed cabbage to eat, which she gladly accepts. (although she much prefers candy, a little old-timey German girl such as Gretel would never turn down cabbage 🥬😋)
Little does Gretel know that the cabbage is enchanted, and as soon as she takes a bite, she starts growing the ears and tail of a donkey! 😱
