Alone one late Saturday morning? Well, that sounds like the absolute perfect time for a quartet of demons to come and crash your lack of a party!
Arthur the ferret’s unfortunately more than familiar with this group of demonic homewreckers. He met Faux—their diminutive leader in the middle there—ages ago while working what would have been an otherwise average shift down at the town’s massive library. The demon had initially possessed him for some infiltration on the part of his master Maev. Though as is typical, the bat-like troublemaker took a liking to his high-strung host and his eclectic group of coworkers.
After spending quite some time in his body while the ferret complained from the backseat, Faux took it upon himself to perform a summoning ritual inside his host’s home. And out popped his three closest friends, all of whom were much less accustomed to spending time in this realm compared to their empowered, diminutive friend. Maev’s summoning of Faux was so strong he could spend any amount of time here he pleased, traveling with just as few restrictions. He’d learned to perform his own summons from watching her, though they were magnitudes less powerful. As a result, his friends were typically bound within close proximity either to the tiny demon or to the location of their summoning circle.
Not that they ever minded. Just getting to visit their best bud and a whole new world was always way more than enough stimulation for them. Despite how well Faux’s possessions and subsequent half-assed host mimicry could fool just about every surface dweller, the demonic trio always immediately knew when he was there to greet him behind his latest host’s face. A host may as well be Faux in the flesh the way they’ll immediately get all cozy with hugs, handshakes, and other such overly familiar gestures. It’s never entirely clear if the other demons could possess someone like Faux can—and so often does—but what is clear is they love to visit new people and places.
Vex, the bottom left demon most similar in shape to Fex, is the quickest to explore her new surroundings and host. If she isn’t clinging all over Faux, she’s misinterpreting the breathtaking mundanity surrounding her. Vex is compelled to spread her own home-making preferences all over Faux’s host in the way of a multitude of outfits, makeups and accessories. Faux loves nothing more than to see her happy, so the typically fiercely independent demon happily succumbs to her whims, suppressing any internal objects his host may have with her handiwork.
The somewhat taller four-eyed demon in the foreground, Tyrox, is the nervous, softspoken member of the group. Where Vex gloms onto Faux, Tyrox tends to anxiously cling. But once he adjusts to his surroundings, the demon loves to explore his temporary new home. In particular, once he finds his way to the kitchen, a lot of that anxiety melts away. For Tyrox, a visit to this realm means endless more opportunities to cook! Arthur’s pantries would cry out in terror if they saw this demon coming, eager to empty them in his culinary pursuits. Some of which are actually tasty!
Rounding out the group both figuratively and literally is the beanpole behemoth Lux! Hidden behind that unflinching, wordless, intense gaze is the happiest demon that ever existed. Not that anyone unfamiliar with him would ever be able to tell. Lux has a tendency to just enjoy to chill as vacantly as possible. And the second you take your eyes off him he’ll vanish to some other dark corner to lurk. Or right in front of you! Don’t take his creepy mannerisms to heart; Lux is the kindest soul anyone could ever know. Sure he’s locked into the scariest stare from with you from across the room, but know that it’s because he’s enjoying himself and intensely curious about you! Most of this is lost on poor Arthur however. And the rest of the demons sometimes leave Lux around to accidentally terrorize the ferret as go elsewhere with Faux.
And on the topic of going places with Faux, the whole group of demons have once more decided Arthur’s place is their absolute favorite place to hole up for a month or so. The feeble little ferret has little means of objecting, especially whenever Faux decides to immediately possess him! Strengthen your resolve and take whatever deep breaths you can afford, Arthur. The gang’s all here once more.
