FA - "Carbuncle" Cork, Proto Design (2/2)
Here's part 2 of my Prototype look/design for Cork if he were in Final Fantasy XIV as a "carbuncle" companion to Corgi. You can check out Part 1 Here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56784798/
This is more or less a demonstration of some obvious non-canon spin I put on the Carbuncle Pet for the Arcanist/Summoner DPS Class, mixing in some older elements of the Class prior to Endwalker, where the Carbuncle Pet had a bit more punch to its abilities in being a full on DPS pet. Plus, I think Cork would be a bit more punchy to begin with, being an atypical "pet" to the series, and wanted to give him some abilities that I think would fit him and his different battle stances.
In his "Feral (All-Fours)" Stance, he'd be capable of doing a heavy blast attack - or "Bellow" as stated in the pic. As a normal attack, it'd be a very magic based attack, with it changing in look and function if he were channeling an element. The primary elements he could use in this attack would be Fire and Wind, which I think are common attributes for attacks where one breathes in and then huffs out.
The other two attacks I had in mind would be in his "Standing" Stance (as demonstrated in the first pic) - "Arcane Claws" and "Arcane Hammer", which I think are pretty self-explanatory. Claws would envelop Cork's hands to give him some close-quarters function, with the elements of Fire and Earth giving him some appropriate damage dealers (especially Earth; I can see anything from dirt to rocks forming to give him something similar to brass knuckles or even boxing gloves X3). Hammer would make his tail a heavy blunt weapon, but the application of elements would be different. Earth would make the end of his tail into an earthly mace, and look something like the rocky armadillo-type creatures on The First, who attack while grappling a rock in their tails. Wind would likely make his fin bigger or more like an immense fan, allowing him to release a big gust of wind.
Of course, as time passes and experience gained, Cork will likely have changes to his stances, attacks, and the like as he gets stronger with Cork in his adventures across Hydaelyn, and I look forward to drawing those pieces in my fan art series with the two and then some. Stay Tuned!~
